An Active Audio sound system was recently installed in the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption in Ertvelde.
At the heart of the new system is the Active Audio R110TC, a column loudspeaker with advanced beam steering. This technology allows the sound to be precisely directed, improving intelligibility throughout the church — from the front pews to the rear porch. The whole system is controlled by Dateq amplifiers and a flexible audio matrix, supplemented by Sennheiser microphones.
Thanks to an automatic mixing function, the system responds automatically to different situations. It switches effortlessly between speakers, celebrants and lectors, resulting in calm and professional sound reproduction, regardless of the size of the celebration.
User-friendliness has also been taken into account. The controls are clear and simple, so that staff and volunteers can use the system without any technical knowledge.
With this new solution, the O.-L.-V. Hemelvaartkerk shows that historical beauty goes perfectly with contemporary audio technology. The result is a warm and clear sound that does justice to every celebration.
